Maria Matlakala appointed to General Foreperson

Maria Matlakala’s appointment as General Foreperson of Pasdec Automotive Technologies’ Plant 1 is richly deserved, as she enters her 27th year of service for the company.

Maria joined Pasdec, or Auto Cable as it was then known, in 1984. She was an operator for 3 years before being promoted to Supervisor.

In 1999, Maria was appointed to the position of Assembly Foreperson a position she has held with pride and distinction before her recent promotion.

Maria says that her immediate goal is to further improve productivity and ensure that goals are met.

“In this labour intensive production environment,” says Maria, “people make the difference. By developing a happy, and disciplined team, I am confident that we will continue to meet our targets.”

Charles Bodenstein, Pasdec’s HR Manager, praises Maria for her dedication and exemplary attitude.

“Maria is not only technically competent,” says Bodenstein, “she is also a very good motivator and mentor who understands how to get the best out of each of her staff members. Her dedication and work ethic set a fine example for others to follow.”
