Landmark Technical Assistance Agreement
with Top Thai Company

Pasdec Automotive Technologies, one of South Africa’s leading automotive components manufacturers, has signed an exclusive technical assistance agreement with Thai Summit Harness, a dominant auto parts manufacturer in Southeast Asia.

In terms of the agreement, Pasdec Automotive Technologies, who currently supplies major OEM vehicle manufacturers with automotive cable harnesses, will have access to newly developed process control technology, training opportunities, components and raw materials.

According to Kevin Pather, Pasdec’s CEO, this agreement will equip the organisation to maintain its market leadership. “Thai Summit Harness,” says Pather, “is a highly impressive organisation with a worldwide reputation for product innovation and quality excellence. We believe that as this important relationship develops and matures Pasdec Automotive Technologies and its clients will enjoy significant benefits.”

Thai Summit Harness is a member of Thai Summit Group, which was established thirty years ago and comprises over 35 companies.

Thai Summit Harness has been a leading manufacturer of wiring harnesses and harness components in Thailand for more than 25 years. It has ISO / TS 16949 certification and its customer base includes most brands of automobiles, pickup trucks and motorcycles produced in Thailand. Thailand is the second largest production base for pickup trucks in the world and nearly half of the vehicles produced are exported to over 100 countries around the globe.

Pasdec Automotive Technologies, which has three dedicated, purpose-built manufacturing plants in Brits and East London, was founded in 1969. In 2002 the company became part of the Pasdec group, since which it has experienced consistent growth built on a continuous programme of investment in plant, technology, processes and skills development. Among its clients are Nissan, DaimlerChrysler and Toyota.
